Forza Horizon 5 Update 18 November

The Series 7 update in March 2019 introduced the Festival Playlist. Players complete daily, weekly, and monthly challenges, including, but not limited to, Seasonal Championships, Playground Games, Ranked Adventure, and Seasonal PR Stunts. While completing these tasks alone earns players rewards, they also contribute to weekly and monthly rewards.

50% and 80% completion of both the Series and the current season rewards drivers with an exclusive car or cosmetic item, consisting of the Common, Rare, Epic, or Legendary rarity. The Festival Playlist has continued to be a part of each series since its introduction. Horizon Arcade – These fun, collaborative minigames come to life when experienced with other players, however, we know not many of you have been able to experience them as intended. There is often a much lower than expected player count for Horizon Arcade events and we know that simply isn't fun.

Like Convoys, we're aware of players disappearing when these events start. In December 2020, as part of the Series 30 update, another new game mode called Super7 was added to the game, which came alongside the expanded "Blueprint Builder" feature. In Super7, players have to complete a series of seven randomly selected stunt challenges for rewards.

The Blueprint Builder expands upon the Forza Blueprint feature by allowing players to set up ramps, structures and scenery à la the TrackMania series to create their own challenges and share them with the game's online community. In the following days, a fictional car, known as the 2058 Quadra V-Tech, was included in the game as part of the release of Cyberpunk 2077. The Forza Horizon 5 Festival Playlist is an ever-changing list of challenges and missions that players can complete as they play the game. This summer capped three years of monthly new Forza Horizon 4 content updates with Series 37. To ensure each week continues to be a fun experience for new and returning players, the Festival Playlist serves a remix of classic events and rewards. It's an impressive highlight reel of everything that's been added to the game since it launched in fall 2018.

Horizon Arcade – These fun and collaborative mini-games come to life when experienced with other players. However, we know that few of you were able to experience them as you intended. There are often a much lower player count than expected for Horizon Arcade events and we know it's just not fun. Like Convoys, we know that players disappear when these events begin. Forza Horizon 5 is a racing video game set in an open world environment based in a fictional representation of Mexico. The game has the largest map in the entire Forza Horizon series, being 50% larger than its predeccesor, Forza Horizon 4 while also having the highest point in the Horizon series.

The map was described by creative director Mike Brown as one of the most diverse Forza Horizon maps the team has built. The map contains an active caldera volcano, jungles and beaches, ancient Mayan temples, and towns and cities such as Guanajuato. Players can explore the open world freely, though they can also compete in multiplayer races and complete the campaign mode. Both the cars featured in the game and the player character can be extensively customised. Players are able to create custom liveries and tunes for cars, and perform engine swaps, drivetrain swaps, or install body kits on certain vehicles. The game is the first in the franchise to support ray tracing on cars .

In December 2019, as part of the Series 17 update, a new 72-player battle royale-style mode called The Eliminator was added. In this mode, players start by driving around the game world in a fairly slow, weak car such as a 1965 Mini Cooper. As players roam the safe zone, they can acquire car drops that contain more powerful vehicles that randomly appear on the map. Players can also challenge other players to head-to-head races to specific points on the map by pointing their camera at the other's vehicle and honking their horn.

Players are eliminated from the event if they drive out of the safe zone or lose a head-to-head race, where the winner of such has the option to drive the opponent's car or receive an upgrade. Eventually, when the safe zone shrinks to a certain point, the remaining players will then race to one final point on the map to determine the winner. Microsoft stated in 2021 that The Eliminator was the most popular multiplayer mode in the game.

Firstly, any lap times from EventLab Blueprint events will no longer be erroneously posted to the Rivals leaderboard for the race route at that corresponding starting location. Additionally, players are no longer able to post to Rivals and PR Stunt leaderboards when using modified game speed settings. Similarly, it is no longer possible to tune a car to a higher class before starting a race originally intended for lower PI vehicles. The game is set in a fictionalised representation of areas of Great Britain. It is the fourth Forza Horizon title and eleventh instalment in the Forza series. The game is noted for its introduction of changing seasons to the series, as well as featuring several content-expanding updates which have included new game modes. This is, however, just a first step and Playground Games has stated that more fixes will be coming in future updates.

There will also be challenges for players to complete as they go through this huge series, and these challenges will help them get points and more rewards throughout the series. Leaderboards – We're aware of bugs that cause erroneous lap times to be posted on Rivals leaderboards and are working on a future update to prevent this from happening. We're also aware of players using game speed modifiers to boost their scores for PR Stunts and are looking to prevent and remove these impossibly high scores. Cheating, game tampering, and the use of exploits to intentionally gain a competitive advantage ruins the experience for others. You've asked for deeper, more authentic multiplayer racing, and we set out to make that a reality in this new Forza Motorsport with a focus on growing skills and building communities. The structure of what we've been testing with the community is essentially a race weekend, featuring Open Practice, Qualifying and a Featured Race with a calendar of both active and upcoming events taking place around the world.

Again, Horizon Tour and Horizon Arcade both offer three points for completion this week, and players who struggled with Arcade last week might have a better time of it following the recent patch. Arcade has players participating in a variety of games, while Tour places you in a convoy of players racing against Drivatars. New cars, events, and much more can be added to Forza Horizon 5 through the Festival Playlist, and Series updates can even be themed and evolve Forza Horizon 5's world. Series 1, for example, welcomes players to Horizon Mexico, while Series 2 will apparently be Holidays themed and add new seasonal decorations to the FH5 world. EventLab creations from the community that gain popularity can also be surfaced through the Festival Playlist, adding even more variety to this constantly moving in-game feature. Now, the score target scales based on the number of participants to allow everyone a fair chance at completing Horizon Arcade minigames regardless of how many players are actively taking part.

In addition, we've adjusted how players are grouped when an event starts to prioritize larger groups. If you're playing in a Convoy, an issue where members could see different score totals has also been fixed. It also sorts a bunch of problems with the game's multiplayer, including improving online traffic and the general stability of Horizon Life connections. It fixes a pesky issue that would make player's cars stop when losing connection to Horizon Life too, and has disabled convoy voice chat so they can figure out what's causing long load times in online events. Forza Horizon 5, which released globally on 9th November 2021, welcomes players to explore the ever-evolving, open-world landscapes of vibrant Mexico with limitless, fun driving action in hundreds of the world's greatest cars. This consists of a series of mini-multiplayer games strewn across the map.

One of these mini-multiplayer games is called "Piñata pop" where the Horizon Festival's cargo plane drops piñatas. The goal is to pop as many piñatas as they can with the help of other players. It also introduces the "EventLab", a toolset in which players can create custom games, races, and more depending on their personal preference. According to Brown, it is an AI assistant that tracks the current statuses of players, helping them to link with other players online and play together. Forza Link can also link players' GPS systems if they accept the invitation from another player. In July 2019, as part of the Series 11 update, a special Horizon Story was added in collaboration with BBC's Top Gear.

The missions, narrated by presenter Chris Harris, provided players with rewards including the "Track-tor" (a race-modified tractor featured in Series 25 of the show) and the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG 6x6. The system predicts the occurrence of a collision between two cars with a large difference in speed and ghosts the faster vehicle, preventing rammings . The anti-wall riding measures include slowing down a car in contact with the wall for an extended period of time, depending on speed and the predicted distance the player would have travelled if they did not hit the wall. Every four weeks, at the end of every Spring season, a new update for the game is released introducing new gameplay content, cars, and cosmetic items. The first of these updates, at the end of October 2018, saw the addition of the Route Creator tool and a new Horizon Story, British Racing Green.

Returning from Forza Horizon 3, Wheelspins are prize spins with random rewards ranging from cars, Credits (in-game currency), emotes, horns, and clothing. Wheelspins are rewarded from progressing through the story and completing certain seasonal challenges. Super Wheelspins, enhanced versions of Wheelspins with better prizes, are also given for completing parts of the story and seasonal challenges.

The game features a route creator which enables players to create races using completely customized routes. The game takes place in a synchronised shared world, compared to the AI-driven 'drivatars' from its predecessors, with each server supporting up to 72 players. The Festival Playlist has Series, with each Series lasting four weeks, and each week lasting about one week. Each week has its own unique challenges and rewards, giving players incentive to return week after week to complete the Festival Playlist and collect new cars and prizes. The Festival Playlist consistently adds new content to Forza Horizon 5, and is how Playground Games will seamlessly inject new ways to play into FH5 over time, including brand-new cars.

Playground Games has also patched out numerous exploits with this update. The Willys Jeep exploit that would allow players to easily farm super wheelspins for credits and cars has been shut down, along with exploits relating to Challenge Cards, EventLab, driving assists, and more. While players embark on their journey through the vibrant and diverse landscapes of Mexico, Forza Horizon 5 will continue to evolve in the months ahead through our regular seasonal content which starts in the coming days. New races, objectives and rewards are brought together every week in the Festival Playlist with Series 1 Update beginning on Thursday, Nov. 11.

Since launch, we understand it's been frustrating to play online, whether it's with your friends or the wider community, due to numerous issues around matchmaking, connectivity and teaming up in Convoys.

We hear you and we understand how you feel especially as socialization in Forza Horizon is an important aspect of the game. We've fixed a crash that could occur when replaying the Canyon Expedition as well as a soft lock in the Baja Expedition. An issue that caused the player to get spawned in the wrong location when replaying Expeditions has also been amended. For co-op play, we've fixed the issues with the destination pin as well as AI cars disappearing. Additionally, we've fixed an issue with HUD scoring in Open Drifting, while in Playground Games events, an issue that caused players to see the incorrect points total when a player left has also been rectified. Forza Horizon 5 will evolve throughout the year with our monthly series updates – there's much to look forward to in 2022, and we can't wait to share more details!

In July 2020, the Series 24 update brought a new Photo Challenge feature in the Festival Playlist.

This feature would reward players if they took a photo of the specified car in front of the specified location as set out by the Photo Challenge for that week. Playground Games may occasionally resurface older Series updates and challenges to give players another shot at earning those rewards. It can also be helpful to know what previous Festival Playlists included as rewards, in case you're missing any of those cars in your own collection. The hype around this upcoming game in the franchise is at an all time high, and to make sure players enjoy it, the developers are adding seasons so that they can continue to add new content after the game is released.

Below are the multiplayer issues that we've heard are most prominently affecting you, and what we're doing to either improve or fix them. We are listening to your feedback and reports, and our next update will be the first step in addressing these issues, with more fixes coming in the next few updates. We've refined Horizon Open to provide a smoother, more streamlined, and more enjoyable racing experience.

First, the number of races in Open Racing events before a car change has been reduced from 5 to 3. We've removed The Goliath from the pool to prevent the long wait times for race completion and we've also eliminated S2 Cross Country races from the class rotation. First, the entire Convoy will be accepted when the leader accepts a Forza LINK invite. We've updated the Convoy icon on the Player Label in the map to be more readable and an infinite load issue when searching for a Convoy via 'Find a Convoy' has also been resolved.

Additionally, we've fixed player labels showing the wrong vehicle PI when viewing the map. Adventure and fun times await in "The Getaway Driver," a live-action trailer starring Cristo Fernández and Karol G that we debuted ahead of Forza Horizon 5's release to celebrate its limitless fun driving action. We also teamed up with Sergio Perez to bring his Piñata challenge to life in both the real world and in Super7. As a symbol of tradition, piñatas represent moments of celebration with family and friends through their color, passion, and happiness. To dive further into the new features of Forza Horizon 5, we kicked off a brand-new livestream series titled Let's ¡Go! We even unveiled the 2020 Toyota GR Supra and the 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 live on air!

Kudos to the teams who pulled together these livestreams biweekly from announce through launch. Team up with other players and enter the Horizon Arcade for a continuing series of fun, over-the-top challenges that keep you and your friends in the action and having fun with no menus, loading screens or lobbies. Meet new friends in Horizon Open and Tours and share your creations with new community gift sharing. Forza Horizon 4 players can expect future Series updates to also include the usual assortment of photo challenges, Forzathon Shop refreshes, and event rewards. Playground revealed this in last night's Forza Monthly livestream, in which the team dished on Horizon 5's lighting and skybox tech. The Series 37 update - due out today - will be Forza Horizon 4's last content patch for the time being.

Although the game will continue receiving updates, their content will be remixes and rehashes of earlier Series releases, meaning no new cars or features. Players of any online game with a big player base will be all too familiar with servers going down. The issue is usually fixed pretty quickly, but can still be pretty frustrating. Sadly, Roblox players were left in a serverless limbo for three days, and over a weekend no less. If you've been struggling with crashes or online stability in Forza Horizon 5, it's probably worth updating your game. This hotfix was supposed to arrive last week, but better late than never.

Pitched as a "hotfix," the first post-launch update unsurprisingly doesn't feature any new content, but rather a wide range of fixes, improvements, and changes, though none that fundamentally change the game. Finally, the Riveting challenge will unlock next Wednesday, requiring the player to complete any chapter of any Horizon Story event. Each of the seven challenges offers up a point towards your seasonal total.
